NMA Advocates and Supporters –

NMA has been closely following the ongoing meningitis outbreak in Florida. The CDC and Florida Department of Health have identified several at-risk groups, including college students, immunocompromised individuals, people living with HIV and men who have sex with men.

Getting vaccinated is the best way to help prevent against bacterial meningitis. Those who may be at risk who either live in Florida or are planning to travel to Florida should discuss MenACWY vaccination with their physician. Individuals should also ask their healthcare provider about the MenB vaccine.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out should you have any questions. We will continue to keep a close eye on the situation and provide any updates as the outbreak continues to evolve.

We are wishing for everyone’s safety and good health, especially those in Florida.
