Let Children be Children

I was honored to be a speaker at the Hanger Prosthetics annual symposium, to educate about bacterial meningitis and its prevention.  I am in awe of the miracles that prosthetists can accomplish.  You see little kids running around with prosthetic legs, as if they had no care in the world.  And that’s the way it should be.  Children should be children.  There are many reasons why people become amputees, but I am hoping we can stop one of them, and that is loss of limbs due to meningococcal disease.  Parents need to make sure that all available vaccines are given to their children.  It warms my heart to watch children play and be happy.  It’s what all parents want – for their children to be happy and healthy.
